Give Me Peace.

I haven't really felt like blogging. Sorry. I have to make a big decision soon (really, really soon, like any day now) about going back to work to teach. It has been the only thing on my mind right now. And I just can't decide what to do. I want God to choose for me, but I think He is whispering it to me and I can't hear right now-too much noise and distractions around me. I keep going back and forth on the decision. Ugh. I just want peace in my heart about this.

Isn't it funny how for some, decisions like this seem so easy to make? I mean, for some moms going back to work is what is suppose to happen. For others, staying home is the only option. But for me and my circumstances, I am just all mixed up. And I am tired of hearing all about the economy, economy, economy. All this talk is making feel guilty about me giving up a great job when so many people are looking for one. I know, completely silly of me.

Seriously, how I can I leave a girl as sweet as this one?

Abra,
All I can say is I am so glad Matt had you as his kindergarten teacher last year! I know this is a hard decision for you, I truly hope you are happy with the choice you make. Teachers put in so much time beyond the school day, I know it would be a hard adjustment for you if you did go back. But I am still comparing YOU to other teachers my kids have and not all of them measure up! I do think you have a way with the kids and your excitement, love of books, your artistic ability and patience helped you to be a great teacher! And Audrey is very lucky to have you as a Mom! And you'll be a good mom to her whether you go back to work or not! Good luck with this hard choice. I'll be thinking about you!

You can always find a job, or return to one, but you cannot make up lost time with your family. Time does not stand still. "Time is the most precious thing you own." Because our lives are so full of hurry, worry and activity, we often stress the importance of spending "quality time" with our children. But this may stem from the guilt of knowing that we often push our kids to the bottom of the list. Yes, we assure them, I’ll spend some time with you, but only after I finish this and that. Spending time with our kids becomes another item on our laundry list, as if they were a "thing to do." Parents need to be there--they need to be a witness to their children’s lives. Let your heart lead you to make the right decision.
