this morning, while i was driving to a nearby park, i had a moment of complete peace with an energy boost all at once. and yeah, it involved caffeine, but i won't let it take the credit like it can sometimes. i was in our van, sipping coffee from one of my favorite mugs (hand-painted by me on a trip to a pottery shop years ago with some close girlfriends), the girls were chatting in the back with each other, worship music was on, and the beams, oh those sun beams were hitting us just right.
i needed that moment. it was like God saying,
good morning to me right there. [His mercies are new every morning.]
then at the park. it was cool. sunny. and practically just us. (we went at nine. i think i'm going to do that more often.)
(these pictures were posted on facebook and instagram, but i couldn't resist sharing them again.
the first and last pictures are unedited. like i said, hello sunbeams.)
so, i want to know, what fuels you?

I get fueled by the snuggles, laughter, and silly faces of my Parker. The thoughtfulness of my hubby. The cool breeze blowing in my windows the last 2 days. The gorgeous sunshine. Little man Hudson wiggling in my belly. And praise and worship on Pandora as I sit back during nap time and surf the web just because I can.
Sounds so wonderful.
What fuels me?
Pretty much the same thing: my son and dog close, a cup of coffee (maybe, not necessarily!) a lit candle, some good music and just taking in the moment.
Then my chest gets warm and I feel that wonderful instant happiness and very invincible :-)
Love, calm and peace, hence...
Have a wonderful weekend with those precious girls!
I love those moments! I too admit that an iced latte with good tunes on in the car and the sun shining (or even rain falling!) can take me there. But, also, at the end of a hard day, the beach. The crashing waves are it for me. And other times, just when I give up and give in to stopping whatever it was that I thought was so important and sit on the couch and read a book to my littles. I realize the thing that I thought I had no energy for is the very thing that fuels me. Kinda like my relationship with God many times, too....
